DATE:

April 2, 2007
On April 2,
2007 the Turkish Cultural Center hosted a conference by sociologist
Huseyin Cakillikoyal. The topic of the conference centered on his
research on Armenian populations in France and Syria. He discussed
the positive outlook that Armenians living in France and Syria have
towards the Turkish government and Turkish culture. Cakillikoyal
also provided historical data on the state of Armenians living under
the Ottoman Empire while disputing the allegations of genocide.
Regarding the supposed “Armenian Genocide” Cakillikoyal stated that
Armenians living in France and Syria don’t find the allegations of
genocide convincing and consider it to be an issue pushed forward by
a marginal group of Armenians in the Diaspora.
