Hon. Cuneyt Yuksel, Member of Parliament of Republic of Turkey
Biography:
Cuneyt Yuksel was born in 1970 in Mardin. After graduating from
İstanbul University Law Faculty with honors degree, he was admitted
to Harvard University Law Faculty. He succeeded to get masters of
law degree from Harvard University in 1994. His thesis named
Reinventing the Government was rewarded as the best thesis at
Harvard University. Cuneyt Yuksel studied international law,
politics and management at Stanford University and received his
second masters degree in 1996.
He received his PhD with his study named
"Governments, Employees and Multinational Companies" from
Stanford University. Cuneyt Yuksel took an award of merit which
is given to only ten students from Stanford University. Between
the years 1998 and 2001, Yuksel worked as an international
attorney at law at a multinational law firm in Washington D.C.
Between 2001 and 2004 he gave consulting services to various
governments and multinational companies. His book which is
published in 2002 named "Embedded Strategies in the 21st
Century: Governments, Markets and Corporate Partners" won high
praises as the must-read book of the year. In 2003 Cuneyt Yuksel
took an award of merit as the most successful Harvard Alumni.
He took part in several international and national conferences
as a speaker. He has published many academic studies in the
fields of reinventing the government, management, globalization,
law and economy, multinational companies, corporate governance,
politics, European Union and fight against corruption. Until his
candidacy to the Parliament, he worked as an assistant professor
of law at BosporusUniversity
He was elected as a deputy for Mardin in 2007 July General
Elections. He is a member of Turkey - EU Joint Parliamentary
Committee and EU Harmonization Committee. He is the Vice
President of Economic Affairs in AK Party.
He is also the Europe Director of Harvard Alumni Association.
Yuksel knows English and Arabic. He is married and has three
children.
