Born in Ankara 1947 , primary and secondary education in Ankara ,
Ankara College . Graduated from the Academy of Economical and
Commercial Sciences , Ankara. Did one year language course at the
West London College . Got a two months international banking
training course at the Postipankki Helsinki , Finland .
Started his professional life at the treasury department of the
Ministry of Finance in 1971. Worked at the NATO international
secretariat as a financial assistant . Did his post-graduate study
at Brussels and İstanbul University on the economical structure of
the European Community . Trainee for six months in European
Community's Commission.. Worked as a European Community Section
Chief at the Treasury department , Ankara Turkey.
In 1977 was appointed as Financial Attache to the Embassy in
Brussels and in 1979 as Financial Counsellor to the same Embassy .
Worked as the Economic and Trade counsellor of the Turkish
delegation to the OECD. Led the negotiations for Turkey's membership
to the Asian Development Bank and European Bank for Reconstruction
and Development as Chief of Department Turkish Treasury in Ankara .
In 1991 and 2002 was a candidate in general elections ,but lost.In
2007 won the general elections and became an MP from İstanbul , MHP
party list . Now member of European Harmonisation Comisssion .
Following the elections in 1991 resigned from his post at the
Treasury department . In 1992 was appointed as Associate Professor
to the Faculty of Economics of the University of İstanbul. Became
professor in 1996 . Teaches since 1985 .
Wrote newspaper columns for several national newspappers for the
last 15 years. Actually writing for Dünya and Turkish Daily News Did
programs for various TV and radio channels as moderator. Was a
consultant and prepared a mid-term evaluation report for the
Employment and Training Project which was a World Bank loaned IIBK
(Turkish Employment Office ) project . Also did consultancy work on
the privatisation of the energy sector. Was the consultant to the
Board of the İstanbul Chamber of İndustry and to some Anatolian
industrialists and to local mayors.Consultant to business
develepment Centers in Van Eastern Turkey and also consultant to
small and medium enterprises. Regularly participates in professional
seminars and congresses . Regularly goes to Anatolian cities to
attend meetings organised by local authorities for researches of
issues of the true economy and development. In 2006 has attended at
least 30 of such meetings . Member of several NGO'S . Author of five
books. , one in English.,speaks fluent English and French.
