   On Thursday, April 26, 2007 it seemed as though the Turkish Consulate had moved into Turkish Cultural Center, as Consul General Mehmet Samsar and his staff were our guests for a reception given in his honor. During his speech, Consul Samsar thanked Turkish Cultural Center for their commitment to promoting Turkish culture in NYC. He also stressed the importance of non-governmental organizations, and the vital role they play in intercultural exchange, taking on roles that governments are not able to fulfill. After the consul’s speech, the guests in attendance and members of Consul Samsar’s staff conversed well into the evening.
