On January 18,
2007, Bruce N. Director and Martha D. Soffer, volunteers from
SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) and SBA (Small
Business Administration), gave a presentation at Turkish
Cultural Center. SCORE is a nonprofit association which helps
entrepreneurs and new businesses receive free counseling from
experienced and retired business owners. At Turkish Cultural
Center, these volunteers gave a power point presentation to an
audience of new business owners and people looking to start
their own businesses. Topics of discussion included strategies
to strengthen business management, legal and tax issues,
mistakes common to new businesses, and financial aid and loans
available to new businesses. The program was followed by a
question and answer session and reception
