Sevin H. Yaraman will present a lecture on Wednesday, December 19 at 7 pm. The title is "Mevlana's dance, since "there is a dance for everything". Mrs. Yaraman is currently in the faculty at Fordham University, Dr. Sevin H.Yaraman has presented papers at academic conferences in the U.S. and in Europe and has been named "Speaker in the Humanities" by the New York State Council for the Humanities for the period 2000-2003.

A former fellow of the AAUW Educational Foundation, she has recently received residency at the Istanbul Historical Turkish Music Ensemble in support of her current research on the role of music and movement in Suf'i contemplative practices. Dr. Yaraman is the author of Revolving Embrace: The Waltz as Sex, Steps, and Sound, published by Pendragon Press.
